Get Assistant

For moving and storage companies

Every quote call starts with the same five questions

Get Assistant answers your line 24/7, asks for the origin and destination ZIP codes, the move date, roughly how much is being moved, and whether stairs, an elevator or a certificate of insurance are involved, then logs it as a quote request in your dashboard.

  • Answers calls 24/7
  • Captures origin and destination
  • Quote requests logged

Why it matters

What the phone costs moving and storage companies

End-of-month and summer volume overwhelms one phone line

Lease turnover dates cluster at month-end, and summer brings the year's heaviest call volume. A missed call at that moment is a quote that goes to the next mover in the search results.

A quote is only as good as the details behind it

Stairs, a walk-up, an elevator reservation, or a building requiring a certificate of insurance all change the job. Capturing these on the first call means your estimator isn't calling back just to ask basics.

Storage-between-closings calls need a start and end date

A caller whose new home closes three weeks after they move out needs storage logged with both dates, not just 'sometime next month.'

Common calls

The calls it handles

Each is answered from the business knowledge you configure and lands as a call record, with a message or an appointment request alongside it.

Quote request with origin and destination
Both ZIP codes, the move date and how flexible it is are captured, along with whether it's local or long-distance.
Inventory size and packing needs
Studio, one-bedroom, three-bedroom, or a room-by-room list if the caller has one, plus whether they want full or partial packing service.
Building access requirements
Stairs, elevator reservations and whether the building requires a certificate of insurance are noted for both origin and destination.
Storage between closings
Start date, expected end date and approximate volume are logged when a caller needs short-term storage between two properties.
In-home or virtual survey requests
Address and preferred time window for an estimator to see the home in person or over video are captured as a request.
Existing move follow-ups
Questions about a scheduled move, like arrival window or truck size, are taken as a message with the reference the caller provides.

A realistic call

How a call actually goes

Saturday, 10:20am, last weekend of the month. Caller wants a quote for a local move.

  1. ReceptionistThanks for calling. Are you looking to schedule a move?
  2. CallerYes, I need a quote. We're moving across town.
  3. ReceptionistSure. Can I get the ZIP code you're moving from and to?
  4. Caller78704 to 78745.
  5. ReceptionistAnd roughly what size is the home — how many bedrooms?
  6. CallerIt's a three-bedroom house, no stairs at either end.
  7. ReceptionistGood to know. Do you have a target move date?
  8. CallerThe last Saturday of next month, but we're a little flexible.
  9. ReceptionistI've logged that for the team to review. Is there anything else I should add?
  10. CallerWe'll also need a couple boxes of dishes packed.
  11. ReceptionistNoted. Someone from our team will follow up with your quote.

What gets captured

What ends up in your dashboard

  • Caller name and callback number
  • Origin and destination ZIP codes
  • Move date and how flexible it is
  • Inventory size — studio, one-bedroom, three-bedroom, etc.
  • Stairs, elevator or certificate of insurance requirements
  • Packing service interest, full or partial
  • Storage start and end dates, when applicable
  • Whether the caller wants an in-home or virtual survey

How it works

Evenings, weekends and overflow

Moving quote calls spike on weekends and evenings, when people are actually home to think about their move. Forward your line so those calls reach a real conversation instead of a voicemail box, and every quote request — origin, destination, date and size — is waiting in your dashboard when your sales team opens up Monday.

Two ways to forward

Forward every call, or use conditional forwarding from your carrier so only unanswered and after-hours calls reach your Get Assistant number.

Limitations

What it will not do

These limits are deliberate, and they are the same on every call.

  • It never quotes a binding estimate — every price question is logged as a quote request for your estimator to price.
  • On every plan, if you've set up call transfer, your receptionist can ask the caller and then attempt a warm transfer to your moving coordinator during the hours you choose. If nobody picks up, it takes a message and a callback number instead.
  • It does not reserve a truck, crew or moving date — requests stay requests until your office confirms them.
  • It does not confirm certificate of insurance details with a building; it only notes that one is required.
  • It is not an emergency line. A move-day dispute or safety issue on-site should go to your crew lead or 911, not this number.

Call records include home addresses and move dates that reveal when a property will be vacant, so restrict dashboard access accordingly. Calls are recorded and transcribed by default; disclosure requirements in your state are yours to meet. Privacy Policy and Terms.

FAQs

Moving companies questions

Setup, billing and security are covered in the general FAQs.

Can it give me a binding price over the phone?
No. It captures the details that drive a quote — ZIP codes, inventory size, access requirements — and logs the request for your estimator to price. It never quotes a binding estimate.
Can it schedule an in-home survey?
It logs the request with the address and the time window the caller prefers. Your team confirms the appointment; nothing is booked automatically.
Does it know if we service long-distance moves?
If you configure your service area and long-distance capability as business knowledge, it answers from that. Otherwise it logs the request and lets your team follow up.
What happens during our busiest weekends?
Calls are answered in parallel rather than placed on hold, so a Saturday full of quote calls still produces individual, complete records instead of a stack of missed calls.

Don't let peak-season calls go to the next mover

Configure your service area and move types once, and let quote and survey requests land as complete records.
