Why it matters

What the phone costs pest control companies

Someone who just saw a rat wants to talk to a person now

A missed call after seeing rodent activity sends that homeowner straight to the next company in their search results.

One-time treatments and recurring plans need different follow-up

A caller renewing a quarterly plan and a first-time caller with a bed bug problem are not the same conversation. Each gets logged with the right context.

Closing deadlines don't wait for a callback

A real estate agent needing a WDI inspection for closing has a date that can't slip. That urgency gets flagged, not buried in a voicemail queue.

Common calls

The calls it handles

Each is answered from the business knowledge you configure and lands as a call record, with a message or an appointment request alongside it.

New pest sighting or infestation report
Roaches, rodents, wasps, ants and similar sightings are logged with what the caller saw, where, and how often.
Bed bug concerns
Location in the home, whether bites are present, and whether the caller rents or owns are captured for a fast inspection callback.
Termite and WDI inspection requests
Real estate closing deadlines are noted along with the property address so termite letter requests get priority.
Recurring service plan questions
Existing customers asking about their next quarterly or monthly visit are logged with their account details.
One-time treatment requests
Callers wanting a single visit rather than an ongoing plan are captured separately so sales can follow up accordingly.
Pet and household safety questions
Whether pets, small children or anyone with allergies or asthma is in the home is captured before a technician arrives.

A realistic call

How a call actually goes

Monday, 7:30pm. A caller found what she believes are bed bugs in a bedroom.

  1. ReceptionistGood evening, thanks for calling. What's going on?
  2. CallerI think we have bed bugs in one of the bedrooms, I found small bites this morning.
  3. ReceptionistI'm sorry to hear that. Have you noticed any bugs themselves, or just the bites?
  4. CallerI saw a couple of small reddish bugs near the mattress seam.
  5. ReceptionistThanks for that detail. Is this in a home you own, or a rental?
  6. CallerWe rent, but I want to get this handled quickly.
  7. ReceptionistUnderstood. Are there any pets or young children in the home I should note for the technician?
  8. CallerYes, we have a toddler and a dog.
  9. ReceptionistI've logged that for the team to review and reach out about scheduling an inspection. Is there anything else I should add?
  10. CallerNo, that's it.
  11. ReceptionistSomeone will follow up soon to get this scheduled.

What gets captured

What ends up in your dashboard

  • Caller name and callback number
  • Property address and ZIP code
  • Pest reported and where it was seen, in the caller's own words
  • Severity or duration — how long it's been happening and how often
  • Whether pets, children or anyone with allergies live in the home
  • Whether the caller wants a one-time treatment or a recurring plan
  • Closing date, for termite or WDI letter requests

How it works

Evenings, weekends and overflow

Nobody who just spotted a rodent or a roach wants to wait until 9am to talk to someone. Forward your line overnight and on weekends, and Get Assistant takes the same details your office would: pest type, location, severity, and whether pets or kids are in the home. Your scheduler starts the morning with prioritized requests instead of a backlog of voicemails.

Two ways to forward

Forward every call, or use conditional forwarding from your carrier so only unanswered and after-hours calls reach your Get Assistant number.

Limitations

What it will not do

These limits are deliberate, and they are the same on every call.

  • It does not identify species, diagnose an infestation, or recommend chemicals or treatment methods — that stays with your inspector.
  • On every plan, if you've set up call transfer, your receptionist can ask the caller and then attempt a warm transfer to your dispatcher or lead technician during the hours you choose. If nobody picks up, it takes a message and a callback number instead.
  • It does not confirm a treatment date or technician arrival window — requests are logged, not booked.
  • It does not quote treatment pricing — that depends on an inspection.
  • It is not an emergency service. A caller describing a wasp sting reaction or other medical emergency is told to call 911 or seek medical care immediately.

Call records may include health-related details like allergies and the presence of children, so keep dashboard access limited to staff who need it. Calls are recorded and transcribed by default. Privacy Policy and Terms.

FAQs

Pest control companies questions

Setup, billing and security are covered in the general FAQs.

Can it tell me what kind of bug I have?
No. It records what the caller saw and where, but identifying the pest and recommending treatment always comes from your technician or inspector.
Can it schedule my quarterly service visit?
It logs the request and any preferred timing, but it does not place anything on your service calendar. Your scheduling team confirms the actual visit.
Does it handle termite letter requests for closings?
It captures the property address and closing date so time-sensitive WDI inspection requests are flagged for your team, but the inspection and the letter itself are handled by your inspector.
What if a caller wants to speak to their technician directly?
On every plan, if you've set up call transfer, your receptionist can ask the caller and then attempt a warm transfer to your dispatcher or lead technician during the hours you choose. If nobody picks up, it takes a message and a callback number instead. Otherwise it takes a detailed message with the caller's name, number and reason.
